Amoureuse en Automne: 3 must-haves for French Fall Fashion

If I were in Tucson, I’d be wearing a sun dress and sandals today. If I were in Tucson, I’d spend my afternoon reading in the sun. If I were in Tucson, I’d still be enjoying (or complaining about) Arizona’s ceaseless summer. But as you all know, I am not in Tucson. I am in Paris. And there are seasons here!

This is the first time in a couple of years that I’ve lived in a place where the seasons change, where fall’s arrival is evident in more than a date on the calendar. In Paris, the leaves are turning from green to red, the air is growing colder, and I can’t wear my sandals anymore. I’m craving all things pumpkin flavored, I drink hot chocolate daily, I’m whipping out the crocheting needles. Fall has, for the first time in years, truly arrived!

Of course, the change of seasons demands a change of style! It’s taken some creativity and innovation on my part to revamp my fall fashion (which usually involves merely adding tights under my sun dress and carrying a cardigan). Living amongst the Parisians has definitely inspired my transformation.

I’ve been keeping my eye out for fall fashion trends in Paris, and I’ve been assembling my wish list. Here are three must-have pieces I’m dying to get my hands on:

1. The Cape 2. The Chunky Knit Scarf 3. The Wedge Ankle Boot

I love everything about fall. I love the colors– burgundy, rusty orange, forest green. I love the food– pumpkin pie, hot coco, sweet potatoes. I love the pass-times– roasting marshmallows on the fire, reading a good book in bed, crocheting Christmas scarves. And of course, I love love love the clothes!

What do you love about autumn? What’s on your wish list this season?
